TESTERMAN APPOINTMENT REJECTED

Governor Benson’s nomination of Karen Testerman to the New Hampshire Commission on the Status of Women was rejected yesterday by the NH Executive Council.

Messages of thanks can be directed to Peter Spaulding of Hopkinton, Ray Burton of Bath and Ruth Griffin of Portsmouth who all voted to reject this nomination.

"By a 3-2 vote, councilors voted against Commission on the Status of Women nominee Karen Testerman, an outspoken anti-abortion advocate who has made public remarks against gays. Wieczorek and Councilor David Wheeler, a Milford Republican, voted for Testerman. Republican councilors Peter Spaulding of Hopkinton, Ray Burton of Bath and Ruth Griffin of Portsmouth voted no."
