Governor Benson’s nomination of Karen Testerman to the New Hampshire
Commission on the Status of Women was rejected yesterday by the NH Executive Council.
Messages of thanks can be directed to Peter Spaulding of Hopkinton, Ray Burton of Bath
and Ruth Griffin of Portsmouth who all voted to reject this nomination.
"By a 3-2 vote, councilors voted against Commission on the Status of Women nominee
Karen Testerman, an outspoken anti-abortion advocate who has made public remarks
against gays. Wieczorek and Councilor David Wheeler, a Milford Republican, voted
for Testerman. Republican councilors Peter Spaulding of Hopkinton, Ray Burton of Bath
and Ruth Griffin of Portsmouth voted no."
