Action and Feedback needed on Lifetime forum
The following is a message from Pat Reuss, Policy Analyst for the NOW Foundation.
She is asking members to once again call campaign offices, this time either thanking
candidates for attending last night's forum, or asking them to explain why their candidate
did not attend.

Hello New Hampshire NOW activists,
There's 6 inches of snow here in the D.C. area and "us softies" are all working from home.
You hearty northeasterners are much tougher! Kim Gandy was at the LIFETIME/NCWO forum at
Dartmouth yesterday afternoon and reports that the 3 candidates who showed up did quite well
and that there was a wonderful group of dynamic women in attendance. The 3 candidates who
appeared (see below) need our thanks! In some form of political irony, NH NOW members were
celebrating Kim’s birthday at a Hanover restaurant later last evening, and General Clark
showed up to greet diners and ended up spending an hour with the 6 NOW leaders. He claims
to not have known about the forum but was quite personable and informed. Too bad he missed
the chance to show that off to the crowd of 700 who had managed to show up earlier at the college.
If you went to the forum at Dartmouth and have thoughts or impressions about why the
candidates came (or stayed away) and how well (or not) they addressed women’s issues,
please drop us a note so that we can include your remarks in any story or analysis that
we write about this venture. Also, if you called any of the campaign offices, please
include any interesting tidbits from those conversations. We need to relate these to
the people from the campaigns who are calling national NOW and asking for our support or
endorsement now that Carol Moseley Braun has dropped out of the race. Thanks so much.
Call these campaigns and thank them profusely for their candidate's attendance at the
Lifetime/NCWO "Every Woman Counts" forum at Dartmouth on Sunday.
Dean - 603/222-1900, 802/651-3200
Lieberman - 603/669-2004
Kucinich – 603/766-4526
Call these campaigns (or the candidates if you see them) and tell them you are disappointed
that they couldn't come to this forum despite the 6 weeks lead time and the importance of
women's issues.
